1.8.1 definitely got me a lot further but still failed. I'm on a dual core Intel iMac running OSX 10.5 and I can't seem to get past about the 590MB mark of Rise of the Guardians. When it would finally fail, the log showed a number of messages referencing posix errors, so I assume it is something in the C+ coding rather than the hardware, but who am I to ...
