I've found that MakeMKV rarely works twice in a row, but almost always succeeds if I quit it, physically disconnect and reconnect the external drive unit, then restart MakeMKV.
It's the "rarely" and "almost always" that I'm betting drive the developers insane.

Hi there. Had high hopes for this, and there's so much good press for MakeMKV out there that I must be doing something wrong. For the life of me, though, I can't figure out what it is. Background. Late-2008 version iMac running OS X 10.8.3. Downloaded MakeMKV 1.8.0. Installed the DASPI 1.3 extension...

Exact same problem here. Just got the drive today, plugged it in, inserted Blade Runner Blu-ray. Precisely the same error messages.
Is this known to be a particularly troublesome model of drive?
