Where does Source Information - Comment come from? Disc or MakeMKV
My version of Ex Machina just got added after I submitted the tgz. I noticed that when I selected the disk the Comment says Hacksaw Ridge. Just curious as to whether that is just a MKV goof or if it a goof made on the disc itself which would be interesting. Doesn't affect anything to my knowledge, j...

Re: Avengers 4 endgame
I plan on picking up a different drive to try endgame. I’ve tried two different discs, cleaned the hell out of both of them(already brand new out of the box), tried full back up instead of making mkv, saving to usb drive......nothing works. The two disks error out at two different spots. One much f...

Re: Spider-Man Far From Home
Looks like Mike has gotten it added as my 'standard' disc from Walmart just started working so it is worth giving your rips a shot again.

Re: Manufacturing Defects as Protection?
I just had two Endgame discs fail (might have had a 3rd but Amazon raised the price so they only offered me refund, not replacement). There was nothing visible but in my (anecdotal) case I can't image it was intentional mastering errors to thwart rippers as the discs both got hung up on video playba...

Same with Incredibles and Wreck-it Ralph and possibly others.

Re: Incredibles 2
1.14 has broken something so it won't read this disc (or apparently Wreck-it Ralph)

Re: MakeMKV to Handbrake for 4K (UHD)???
Thank you everyone for your support. This is all great information. I use a Drobo 5N as my Plex Media Server and it works great for both storage (up to 18TB) and to play back Blu-Ray movies after being encoded with Handbrake. I tried running a native Blu-Ray movie after ripping it through MakeMKV a...
Re: UHD FAQ
When I watch a UHD rip on a non-HDR TV or computer screen, why are the colors muted? HDR UHDs use Rec. 2020 / BT.2020, which is a 10-bit or 12-bit WCG (wide color gamut) color space (compared to Blu-rays, which use the Rec. 709 HDTV color space). If you view Rec. 2020 on a non-HDR monitor, the colo...
Re: MKV HDR?
Note the mkv container support is only HDR10, not DV. Conversations I've seen is that there is no eta nor expectation of ever having support.

Re: Asus BW-16D1HT Firmware
Got my BW-16D1HT today and as figured it came with 3.01 firmware. Working great ripping the Martian in 40 minutes. Mine arrived today as well and I'm impressed with the rip times, probably about 25% faster than the LG WH16NS40 I got a few weeks ago. It's been said that it's the same drive only re-b...

Re: John Wick - US Version
Man... this BR is the biggest pain in the @$$. I have a copy I got from Amazon that has the BR+DVD+Digital. I tried the 589 that others have suggested and that doesn't work. What I mean by that is that once it is ripped it will not play and if I try to transcode it with Handbreak it will not detect...

Re: 50 usd too much for me, 20 ?
Really? So for the price of two blu-rays that you should be buying if you are using this, is too much to pay the developer of a product you obviously get value from? Even if you are ripping them off, you would have to be renting them from somewhere and you would have to pay for the hard drives to st...

Re: Cinavia Protection and VLC
To directly answer your question, Cinavia has to be supported on all current Blu-ray players. It will shut down playback if the file isn't encrypted so if you were to copy your BR as an ISO with protection, Blu-ray playing software wouldn't have an issue but if you were to do so removing the encrypt...

Re: Toy Story of Terror
*sigh* Track selection for any particular title is defined in the playlist, eac3to and mediainfo simply ignore the tracks in the playlist and list all tracks in the m2ts files. Therefore, whatever tracks eac3to or mediainfo list for a title are of no consequence and don't make for a rational argume...
