This issue was apparently caused by a bug in the nVidia 310 driver. 314 has it fixed.

half my encodings don't work in XBMC
I recently converted 40 DVDs to MKV using MakeMKV. About half of those don't playback correctly in XBMC. They have an issue where the Y component plays back only on the left half of the screen.
