I bought a copy!
There's like a solid yearslong period between when I was financially solvent enough to want to actually purchase the software I periodically use but truly value, and when I actually found the page to buy MakeMKV. It didn't help that the page itself was on some shaky ground at the time and had been s...

Post-rip conversion scripts for Batman: The Animated Series
Pasting script contents on both sides of the post: Season 1 - http://pasteall.org/1355640/bash I'm working on scripts that do the following: Copy every episode file to a TVDB-friendly filename Title every episode with its name Name every track appropriately... ish. Make a copy of the commentary trac...

Properly tagging TV shows: Is there a better way?
So right off the bat, an example of the horrible, mega-jank way I tag my Blu-Ray backups. This one's for Season 3 of Star Trek: The Next Generation: http://pasteall.org/977502/bash Basically, once MakeMKV has ripped all of the discs, I wanna make sure that things look good an consistent. So first I ...

Blu-Ray equivalent of Gracenote/CDDB?
So CDDB/FreeDB used CD track times/counts in order to get a "fingerprint" of an individual disc, making it easy to rip your own CD and automatically fill in the proper metadata (track names, CD composer/singer, track numbers, etc.). Is there anything like that for Blu-Ray? I mean, the mpls...

Re: Backup option grayed out on Blu-Ray discs?
Update: Okay, for the sake of posterity:
The backup button, while visible after opening a disc, is not meant to be used that way.
It should actually be used before you click the big blu-ray disc icon in the middle of the MakeMKV window.

Backup option grayed out on Blu-Ray discs?
I just tried making a full folder backup of a Blu-Ray disc, but the option was grayed out: http://i.imgur.com/jmKJfAT.png Is that a bug in the current verison, or is that functionality no longer in the beta? I tried searching for this issue but every thread I could find is in regards to it being gra...

Did anyone see the post about the Chinese knock-off app? Chances are that the next key update is on hold so that people can see that they're being scammed.

Re: 3D MVC Option
So first you need to install OpenELEC. The standard IMG tools for Raspberry Pi devices work just fine. Now, once that's done, your Pi will automatically have file shares visible on your network. Just go to: \\[Your Pi's IP address] or smb://[Your Pi's IP address] Once you're in there, there's a fold...

The program can't find any usable optical drives.
I've got a USB Blu-Ray drive plugged into my system, and it looks to be recognized just fine by the OS (I can mount it and whatnot), but MakeMKV can't seem to find it when it starts: 001005:0000 MakeMKV v1.8.13 linux(x64-release) started 001004:0000 Debug logging enabled, log will be saved as /bourn...

Community resquest: BDDB?
Is there anything on the level of the CDDB for Blu-Ray discs? e.g. something that would allow software like MakeMKV to do a quick search online through a disc structure "fingerprint" and get details like track and title names?

Re: Idiots Guide To 3D
Are You the Mukiex on the Cyberlink Forum? Thanks for your information. Yes, I am. PWDVD 12 is currently playing in spectacular full 3D from my initial makemkv 3D backup of a retail disk No, it's not. It's converting. How do I know this? Cyberlink THEMSELVES still have "MVC track in MKV" ...

Re: Idiots Guide To 3D
I'm not entirely sure that PowerDVD is actually opening the 3D MVC layer. From my test, it seems that PowerDVD only offers to do on-the-fly conversion to 3D. I've never had the 3D button actually see the right eye video. It's easy to tell, because when PowerDVD is converting. See this button, to the...

Branching paths/X-in-1-Style editions?
It's been about 3 years since it was initially requested: http://www.makemkv.com/forum2/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=897
Any chance we'll see this feature hit? It would be really useful for movies like Leon or the Alien series.

Re: Seems overpriced?
It's actually pretty damn UNDER-priced. Let's take a look at what the competition is, shall we? AnyDVD - Lets you rip straight to ISO to send through MKVMerge. Lifetime license? (MakeMKV's is desribed as such) $160. Blu-Ray Playback Software - I've never seen anything under $90 new. MakeMKV - $50 (M...
