Re: New User Needs Help
I wouldn't be surprised if I'm missing something obvious. Please inform me of the infallible nature of these conversion profiles! (Bearing in mind, we're talking about the main MakeMKV program, which isn't allowed to guess. Then people could complain and expect Mike to do something about it - think ...

Re: The Wild Geese, mkv not work properly on WD TV Live.
More likely it's yet another bug with the way the WD TV Live handles Matroska. I just spent two days on the WD forum and in that time I diagnosed two specific problems with the WD TV Live SMP and MKVs. The first was that 6.1 DTS-MA doesn't bit-stream (possibly because they have DTS-ES cores) and the...

Re: Duplicate rips?
The images you gave us tell us nothing, next time try expanding the title trees first! 1. Check the Audios first, that might give you a clue. If one has Japanese and another has European audios, then keep the European one (unless you're Japanese of course). 2. Next check the segment map, if you can ...

Re: 6.1 DTS-HD to FLAC issues
Blade, Blade Trinity and one of the X-Men movies have 6.1 DTS-MA sound and I converted them to FLAC fine with Eac3to, unfortunately, my WDTV Live SMP refuses to play it but they play back fine in VLC and Windows Media Player.

Re: Feature Request: Segment info saved in secondary Chapter
OK then, does anyone know of any way to strip the segment map time codes/sources from a blu ray? Whether or not it can be stored in chapters it would be useful infomation to have.

Re: New User Needs Help
MakeMKV searches the disc and automatically selects all tracks over 120 seconds long (or however long it's set in preferences). It's up to you to uncheck the tracks you don't want. Any attempt to automate the process could wind up ripping the wrong tracks and supporting the decision logic would be m...

Re: Feature Request: Segment info saved in secondary Chapter
So far I've learned that if I load chapters into MKVMergeGUI I can drag and drop the editions to change their order, VLC will then show which ever is first. If I change which edition is has the default flag set MPC-HC will always show the chapters with the default flag. It's better than nothing.

Re: What is the price of MKV?
I think it's priced just right, it's way too high for a casual purchase, but not high enough that every time Admin is a little late with the new beta key I don't consider 'hmm, maybe I'll just buy it' and I know, eventually, I'll cave. It's a BRILLIANT marketing strategy!!!!

Re: Bluray Conversion
Ah, sorry, it's been so long since I tried getting VLC to play blu ray that I'd forgotten most of the details. I did vaguely remember menu's not working but I thought they might have done something about that by now. After doing more research I've realised my advice was doubly bad, since the latest ...

Re: ADMIN!!!
In case anyone is wondering, I ripped Blade into an MKV with DVDFab and it showed exactly the same problem. One thing we did learn was that the affected Blu-rays we had on hand all had DTS-ES cores which may be a factor. Currently the only way to view such movies on a WDTV Live SMP at anywhere near ...

Re: Feature Request: Segment info saved in secondary Chapter
OK, I'll explain anyway, assuming the head jumps around, if it doesn't please ignore me. Chapters first. The MKV format has a lot of capabilities that at this point are under-utilised. One of them is in chapters, the MKVMergeGUI calls them edition. Basically, you can create more than one 'edition' o...

Re: Feature Request: Segment info saved in secondary Chapter
Maybe I'm making incorrect assumptions into how BDs are structured. I'll ask a question first. If I have two versions of a movie (or TV show) on one disc do I literally have 2 complete copies of every frame stored on that disc or does the read head jump around allowing the two movies (or TV shows) t...

The Current Beta Key:
otherwise you can't rip Blu Rays with MakeMKV.

Feature Request: Segment info saved in secondary Chapter Set
I believe the title says what I want, an option to add the segment info to an output file as a secondary chapter set. It would aid in identifying proper titles after ripping and save a lot of confusion.

Re: Bluray Conversion
As far as I'm aware VLC isn't currently set up to play back Blu Ray menus. You could try this:

No guarantees it will work though.
