Re: TENET UHD RB - Failed to open disk
The QC on UHD is terrible. Tenent was one of the worst for me; I just returned for an exchange the Lord of the Rings 4K set because one of the discs refused to rip at a certain point. I’ve had easily 20 UHD discs fail to backup with at least one well past the return/exchange date so I actually bough...

Re: TENET UHD RB - Failed to open disk
Amazon (US) version "64DA" still not working.
Bummer.
EDIT:
The disc won't even back up properly without decryption (makemkv says it backed up but one file failed hash check; however the disc never fully backs up - odd behavior) - no amount of cleaning helped, so exchanging it.

Re: TENET UHD RB - Failed to open disk
It should download the latest set of keys.
Interesting that there are so many variants - though does the different filename mean different volume key?
My "amazon" copy produced a different filename than others.

Re: TENET UHD RB - Failed to open disk
Not ripping for me - says volume key is unknown. DeUHD can also not read it - getting 0.37 MB/s, and the rip starts with errors right off the back which I can "Ignore All", but I'm not waiting 76 hours to rip this disc.... Either the discs are largely "bad", or perhaps some new s...

Full disk backup - makemkv M2TS folder?
For some full disk backups, I've noticed that in the resulting backup which has an MAKEMKV folder there appears an M2TS folder that sometimes has a file or two in it which are also files in the STREAM folder.
Why are these here and what does it represent?

Re: Once upon a time in Hollywood
yup read that. was more curious why one drive failed to even mount this disc while an older “friendly” drive had no issues.

Re: Once upon a time in Hollywood
Interesting! Once Upon a Time In Hollywood will not load on my official UHD drive - LG WH16NS60 firmware 1.00. MakeMKV can’t find the disc On an older “friendly drive”, it works. But it also reports AACS as “AACS 2.0/C v68”, which I don’t recall ever seeing the “/C” before. Being this is a Sony titl...

Re: MakeMKV Skipping Files?
I've asked the same question. When backing up Weird Science, it skipped a PDF in the root of the disc. The PDF is an unencrypted full script of the movie. I'd expect the entire disc to be backed up; not sure why files are skipped... Going to check one of the other popular programs and see if it too ...

makemkv skips files in complete backup
I've noticed that Makemkv reports files sometimes as "skipped" when doing a complete backup. For example, it skipped a PDF file backing up Weird Science which was the movie script. It skips zip files, XML files in some cases. that would mean it's not a complete backup. why does it do this?

Re: Ripping Dolby Atmos into MKV
the latest lav update fixed all audio drop outs for me and others for atmos tracks. give it a try. I have, believe me. I was testing it on the JRiver forum when Nev was fixing it. It does not fix ALL the audio dropouts. It vastly improved the situation, but, with a MakeMKV rip of Incredibles 2 I st...

Re: General makemkv question re: debug messages
according to makemkv they do complete successfully.
i have not noticed an issue with playback.
it’s partially curiosity and partially wanting to ensure i have a bit perfect backup.

General makemkv question re: debug messages
Depending on the drive I use, I may see debug messages during the rip, either to folder or to mkv. The rip completes and appears successful. If I re-rip using a different drive, same movie, I don't see any debug messages. Should I be concerned over the debug messages from the first rip/drive combo? ...
