It came bare but I'm use it with a generic sata slim to usb2.0 with y cable for extra juice. Have not use it for ripping only for burning some blanks. It behaved well on verbatim bd-re and ritek br2 but not so much on verbatim mdisc. That is why I was looking for a newer firmware maybe with a better...
