Hi everyone, I shouldn't say I am new to ripping, as at one time I had a couple hundred gigs of movies ripped via Makemkv. You need to reformat in NTFS or one of the other formats that allows for large files.
That is exactly what the problem was, I have done this and everything works great.

I was able to rip it to my c drive with no problem. I then tried to transfer it to my external hard drive and when I did it told me the file was to large, about 4.5 gb how is it to big when I have 300 gigs of free space. Is there some sort of setting that I might be able to change.

No, looks like you ticked all the right boxes. 1. Verify that you can write to the Movies folder on that drive, or set it to write to a folder on your C: and try to save to that.
