playback issue after conversion
I have an issue that has occurred now on at least 3 Blu rays. After MKV converts the Blu ray to a MKV the disc will not play. i get either a blue screen that sits there and then seems to go out of focus or a black screen that nothing happens. if i try to fast forward to get the movie started, it cra...

I did have an issue with this Blu ray that i was wondering if any one else had. I know i purchased the Blu ray version but it seems like i have a DVD version. There is n...

Re: Has anyone determinedProper Playlist for "Brave"?
i have the minimum title length (seconds) set to 3600 so i get three choices. the first one says it saves one title which is similar to others that i have converted. the second and third save 2 and three titles. what i have found is that they all save 2 titles, the main title which is the one i pref...

Converted Transformers 1 from BDMV folder. I have not watched it since the conversion. Tried to play it using windows media player and player freezes and then i get an error that players has stopped working. i thought something might have happened during conversion so i reconverted from the disc but...

Re: forced subtitle issue solved
Update: As this is an ongoing effort i have had a new issue come up with some new Blurays just released and a one older one. While i checked for the default subtitle track with The Raven, Rock of Ages, and Goldfinger by using my external player i did not get any sub tracks that were checked to indic...

Re: forced subtitle issue solved
i tried to include everything i have done to get these to work properly, but your comment brought up something i have not included. if you are referring to all the subtitles appearing, then what i did was go into settings in media center and under dvd go to subtitles and select "on when muted&q...

Re: forced subtitle issue solved
i have never used a stand alone blu ray player so if this is what you have then Paulster's suggestion would work. if you have an external player like Total Media Theater, Powerdvd right click on your mouse to get the drop down menu once you have the movie going and then go to subtitles. This will sh...

Re: forced subtitle issue solved
Update #2 John Carter bluray track to use is the second one even though the third is the one that appears as the default track. If you select the third one you will get the director's comments in the subtitles. Dont know what the issue is but it is with the bluray only. My buddy has the DVD and he d...

Re: forced subtitle issue solved
I stand corrected in my use of the word "forced". In my explanation on determining the correct subtitle track I should have referred to it as default . The default subtitle track is the track that contains the foreign/alien languages whether they are classified as forced or not. This shoul...

i love makemkv. So thanks to everyone who has been involved in making this great product. By converting all my Bluray BDMV folders to MKV's, I am now able to play all my movies through Windows Media Player, eliminating the need for external players which have done nothing but cause me hours upon hou...

Re: PGS Subtitles MakeMKV & Handbrake
Getting the subtitles i.e. alien language for movies such as John Carter and Avatar to work seems to be lot more complicated than i thought after reading this thread. i have converted all files from John Carter to MKV and downloaded handbrake. If someone could tell what steps (I am a newbie) i need ...
