I tried using BDRFlash to flash the two firmware files S9330000.104 and S9330001.104 - it reports the firmware has a bad checksum, but from what i can see they seem fine, is there an alternative site to downloading firmware files?

If you put the drives in kernel mode you can flash the lastest fw over them

But i have Not seen that on any of my pioneers

There might have been a mishappen on the flashing front, even though i don't have any clue how it could've happen, but right now my XD08 only reads DVDs, not BluRay (and of course not uhd) with last firmware 1.04. Makes sense to me. Like I said, it's working just fine on Blu-rays, and it's never a bad thing to take some load off my UHD drives.

For the Pioneer BDR-211EBK Blu-ray drive, the latest official firmware versions include v1.54. Firmware v1.55 is officially intended for the Pioneer BDR-209 series, not the 211.
