Re: Drive Kit 1.0 - pioneer flasher
Pioneer BD drives use the Renesas R8J32740 optical drive
controller (confirmed via BDR-XD08 teardown). Firmware
decompilation confirmed ARM Thumb-2 (ARMv6) instruction
set compiled with GNU C++.
Your project sounds interesting babayaga but I'm not sure about this reference to ARMv6.
As I ...

Re: doesn anyone have v 1,55 for pioneer?
For the Pioneer BDR-211EBK Blu-ray drive, the latest official firmware versions include v1.54. Firmware v1.55 is officially intended for the Pioneer BDR-209 series, not the 211.

Re: Drive Kit 1.0 - pioneer flasher
I hope that this wouldn't sound offensive but I can't help but want to ask: in terms of like "layman interest" (i.e. getting a Pioneer drive crossflashed), is there currently any advantage of using this over BDRFlash? Or, does it aim at gaining one/some (e.g. "breakthrough" regarding post Dec 2022 ...

Re: BU40N MT1959 firmware format: packed region at 0x158000 (compression method known?)
great readthrough and work! I don't know much at all about the MT1959 firmwares, I've been coding a new pioneer flasher for the past couple of weeks and are now done with it (or at least as far as i can go with the drives i got on hand), I wish there were a bigger community here in the forum for ...

Serial code decoding on pioneer drives
Reverse engineering Pioneer serial number format — confirmed month at position 1 (A-M) and country at positions 2-3. Need help identifying the year encoding. Known data points: NIDL001216JP=Sep 2014, SEDL056253WL=May 2005. What formula gives these years?

I've never heard of NewEgg before, and I see they list different pioneer models as well, but extremely pricy for not knowing what you're going to get :/ Many of the pictures on there were taken from Yahoo auctions as well.

With your feet in the air and your head on the ground
Try this trick and spin it, (Yeah) yeah
Your head will collapse, if there's nothing in it
And you'll ask yourself...
