Just now it refused to recognize a regular old Blu-Ray disc.
If it's an old Blu-ray disc I would recommend cleaning it (not the label side, the other side, obviously) with a slightly damp, clean microfiber cloth to get rid of the chemical haze that can prevent ripping. Then, you can dry it with ...

Re: Do I need to update for LibreDrive?
Thanks for the reply, but I did mean what I said. This drive recognizes and rips UHD discs. My process is to make an MakeMKV backup of the discs and then rip from the backups, but for this I made a point to also rip directly from the disk. Both processes were successful, even with all those errors ...

Re: Do I need to update for LibreDrive?
I have this drive that DOES rip DVD, Blu-Ray & UHD discs
By "DOES rip UHD discs" I'm going to go ahead and assume you mean "is supposed to be able to rip UHD discs", as you do not have LibreDrive enabled, and I've never heard of MakeMKV being able to rip a single UHD disc without LibreDrive ...

Re: Stupid flash mistake
Oh my, thank you for confirming this. That was a risky move on your part though, as I was basically asking Billy whether what I posted was correct, as I wasn't 100% sure of what I was doing.
Still, now I know that this works in case the same thing ever happens to me by accident, so thank you Billy ...

Re: Will Make MKV ever get ouf of beta?
As for "when will it be out of beta", most of us hope "never". There is a lot of software out there that never leaves beta - Windows 10 is an example. Everyone running it is a beta tester. "Release" versions are "feature fixed", and only bugs will be repaired. Beta software can mutate in ways that ...

For Buffalo drive owners
When I bought my Buffalo BRXL-PUS6U3B-US, I was sure that I would be getting a copy of Cyberlink PowerDVD with it, since that's what Amazon claimed. However, upon receiving the box containing the drive, there was mostly just the drive and the cables inside. No DVD with a Cyberlink product, just a ...

Re: New AACS But No Dump Generated
So that means the issue really might stem from what I said in my previous post, then.
Should it happen again, please feel free to post the full error log, and maybe someone more experienced than I am will be able to shed more light on this.

Re: By far not 6x rip speed after flashing to MK 1.03
I have had this "issue" with nearly every BU40N-type drive I've tested. In fact, these drives usually seem to rip UHD discs at a higher speed than regular Blu-ray discs. Why they're doing that, I have no idea, but I find that it's usually not something to worry about, as dcoke22 said.

Re: New AACS But No Dump Generated
Thank you. I'm not sure what to say... I've heard that having MakeMKV running when you insert a disc can cause errors that go away when you do this :
Closing MakeMKV and reopening it led to the disc opening properly.
I'm not sure, but maybe that's what happened here ? You didn't get any errors ...

Re: New AACS But No Dump Generated
Very odd. I'm not sure I can be of much help, but just in case, could you please tell me the version of MakeMKV you're using (it should be in Help -> About) ? Also, what's the AACS version of the disc? MakeMKV should tell you about this in the Info window.

Re: Stupid flash mistake
I would most definitely recommend a recovery flasher as well, but out of pure technical curiosity, am I correct in assuming that the CLI version would be something like this ?
.\makemkvcon64.exe f --all-yes -d D: rawflash nocheck,boot="MT1959 Boot JB8 " -i "C:\buffalorecovery\DE_LG_BU40N_1.03_MK ...

Re: Disc Won't Play in VLC
So what's actually causing this issue?
I am not sure exactly, but I believe that for a free media player to actually be able to play Blu-ray menus you need 1) a version of the media player that's been programmed to handle this particular Blu-ray menu, and 2) a compatible version of Java ...

This is really not a forum for question regarding that.

Re: Disc Won't Play in VLC
All right, so :
On Linux, VLC and Kodi sometimes manage to load the Blu-ray menus for this movie, provided you have the latest JRE. However, even so, the Blu-ray menus do not work properly. Switching to another version of Java merely resulted in VLC refusing to play the disc and Kodi flat-out ...
