Re: Purchase Page Down
I already own a license key for MakeMKV, but since I will likely be interested in purchasing an extra key for a friend of mine in a month or two, I've just checked the purchase page. I am getting the same error. I should point out that searching for "MakeMKV" on https://store.payproglobal....

Re: SDFtool Flasher
From the flashing guide : 1. Make sure your Drive was built after 2016 on label or late 2015 if you want to risk it. 2. Drive Platform MT1959<Most important in makemkv 3. SVC NS50+ LG only on label for NB drives NB50+ 4. Just because your drive is the same model number does not mean it will work, if...

Re: Explain simply how to get Java menus to work
I just download the latest Linux x64 jre from here : https://www.java.com/en/download/ and decompress it inside my Downloads folder. Then I use the environment variables JAVA_HOME and JRE_HOME as needed. I also use Kodi rather than VLC, since I personally think it's better for Blu-ray playback, espe...

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2026
added boot codes and recovery info to the guide Hello, and thank you very much for this ! I had been hoping we would get this info for some time. Quick question : I believe the boot code needed for the LG BP55EB40 NB50 is also "MT1959 Boot BUP3", and therefore, this would be the boot code...

I would like to thank skyrider for my Verbatim 43888 w. Pioneer BDR-UD04 1.14 (shipped to France). The drive arrived quickly and was in perfect condition. Here's what I tried to do with the drive so far : Audio CD playing - worked flawlessly Audio CD ripping - worked flawlessly DVD ripping - worked ...

Firmware type: Patched (microcode access re-enabled) Firmware version: 1.03 It looks like something went wrong, and only the first step succeeded. No need to tick "include boot loader". No need to tick "encrypted firmware" either, at this point. You need to follow these exact st...

Re: MakeMKV above v1.17.7 still broken on Linux
As far as I know, flashing firmware and dumping firmware are broken on Linux with any version newer than 1.17.7. This might be why MakeMKV hangs - I believe it's trying to get the firmware dump, but due to the bug with the newer versions, it can't. Do you need to download that manually? I believe th...

Re: LG BU40N vs Pioneer BDR-UD04
Sorry, I should've been more specific. FindVUK used to be able to dump the VUK for AACS 1.0 discs but I believe only UK were ever available for AACS 2.0 discs. The consistent availability of AACS 1.0 device keys has effectively mitigated the loss of dumped AACS 1.0 VUK. MakeMKV requires the keydb.c...

Re: Questions On Flashing BD-RE HL-DT-ST BD-RE BU40N
I do like to also use DVDFab, and DVD Fab now picks up the drive and calls it Unfriendly and offers to use it's UHD Tool to Downgrade Firmware to 1.00. I am wondering if this ok, will it still work between both programs and are there any +/- to doing this? I have never used DVDFab's UHD Tool. I kno...

Re: LG BU40N (Verbatim 43888) FW 1.05 MODP9KJ1307 - enc or non-enc firmware?
rawflash enc to DE_LG_BU40N_1.03_MK from Marty's All You Need Firmware Pack. If you're on Linux (or you need DVDFab compatibility on Windows), you will then need to rawflash main to DE_LG_BU40N_1.00. No "rawflash full" for this drive. If you're on Windows, I would strongly recommend using ...

Re: LG BU40N vs Pioneer BDR-UD04
Hey Sayaka, these days LG and Pioneer drives are equivalent for the purposes of the public keydb. Both manufacturers are fully supported for deriving all disc keys for AACS 1.0, 2.0 and 2.1. Thank you for this, I didn't know that ! FindVUK can dump unit keys (UK) from DVDFab, but not volume unique ...

Re: Issues With Verbatim 43888
I will let someone more experienced than me check the log (it looks like you've got a download error as well ?), but I will say that as far as I know the KEYDB.cfg file (which is supposed to be placed inside the MakeMKV config folder, as you probably already know) does have a key for the 4K version ...

Re: WP50NB40 NB52 Restore to stock firmware?
Before you take such a drastic step... Have you considered flashing it to DE_LG_BP60NB10_1.00_MK in Marty's All You Need Firmware Pack (this should be doable) ? This might help in case the issue you're having stems from hard-to-read 4K discs that might be giving the BU40N firmware trouble. If you ar...
