Re: Hitachi-LG USB Blu-ray Drive BP55EB40 SVC EB52

Firmware type: Patched (microcode access re-enabled) Firmware version: 1.03 It looks like something went wrong, and only the first step succeeded. No need to tick "include boot loader". No need to tick "encrypted firmware" either, at this point. You need to follow these exact st...

Re: MakeMKV above v1.17.7 still broken on Linux

As far as I know, flashing firmware and dumping firmware are broken on Linux with any version newer than 1.17.7. This might be why MakeMKV hangs - I believe it's trying to get the firmware dump, but due to the bug with the newer versions, it can't. Do you need to download that manually? I believe th...

Understood, thank you very much ! :D

(And since I managed to track down that Kaamelott 2 post in the keydb thread thanks to the information you've just given me, I'd like to thank thaelis as well !)

Re: LG BU40N vs Pioneer BDR-UD04

Sorry, I should've been more specific. FindVUK used to be able to dump the VUK for AACS 1.0 discs but I believe only UK were ever available for AACS 2.0 discs. The consistent availability of AACS 1.0 device keys has effectively mitigated the loss of dumped AACS 1.0 VUK. MakeMKV requires the keydb.c...

Re: Questions On Flashing BD-RE HL-DT-ST BD-RE BU40N

I do like to also use DVDFab, and DVD Fab now picks up the drive and calls it Unfriendly and offers to use it's UHD Tool to Downgrade Firmware to 1.00. I am wondering if this ok, will it still work between both programs and are there any +/- to doing this? I have never used DVDFab's UHD Tool. I kno...

Re: LG BU40N (Verbatim 43888) FW 1.05 MODP9KJ1307 - enc or non-enc firmware?

rawflash enc to DE_LG_BU40N_1.03_MK from Marty's All You Need Firmware Pack. If you're on Linux (or you need DVDFab compatibility on Windows), you will then need to rawflash main to DE_LG_BU40N_1.00. No "rawflash full" for this drive. If you're on Windows, I would strongly recommend using ...

Re: LG BU40N vs Pioneer BDR-UD04

Hey Sayaka, these days LG and Pioneer drives are equivalent for the purposes of the public keydb. Both manufacturers are fully supported for deriving all disc keys for AACS 1.0, 2.0 and 2.1. Thank you for this, I didn't know that ! FindVUK can dump unit keys (UK) from DVDFab, but not volume unique ...

Re: Issues With Verbatim 43888

I will let someone more experienced than me check the log (it looks like you've got a download error as well ?), but I will say that as far as I know the KEYDB.cfg file (which is supposed to be placed inside the MakeMKV config folder, as you probably already know) does have a key for the 4K version ...

Re: WP50NB40 NB52 Restore to stock firmware?

Before you take such a drastic step... Have you considered flashing it to DE_LG_BP60NB10_1.00_MK in Marty's All You Need Firmware Pack (this should be doable) ? This might help in case the issue you're having stems from hard-to-read 4K discs that might be giving the BU40N firmware trouble. If you ar...

Re: LG BU40N vs Pioneer BDR-UD04

DISCLAIMER : I've never owned a "true" BU40N, however I have two drives which, as far as I know, are technically BU40Ns. Feel free to disregard most of this post if you'd only like opinions from people who actually own the real thing. Hitachi-LG BP55EB40 (SVC Code EB52) - Seems to have a B...

Re: Correct firmware for Buffalo BRXL-PUS6U3B

You're welcome ! Also, yes, the sidegrade is pretty much necessary. If you choose to keep the 1.03MK for Windows, I've heard it might make things somewhat easier when it comes to some hard-to-read discs compared to the 1.00 firmware... Although personally I found the BRXL-PUS6U3B to be the best opti...

Re: Correct firmware for Buffalo BRXL-PUS6U3B

Revision: BN14 From this post the LG_BU40N_1.03_MK should work. But, I'm curious how anybody would know for sure. There are no firmware files that have an obviously matching filename. Look at the list of encrypted firmwares from the flashing guide : "HL-DT-ST-BD-RE_BU40N-BN14" That's prob...
