Re: MKV of DVD vs MP4 of Blu-ray Quality
We were mostly using a Sony 400 disk NTSC stand alone dvd player. We don't watch SG1 episodes too often these days, we processed our 4 or 5 favorite episodes with Handbrake, and use a set top media player and those play pretty good now. Makemkv, Handbrake and a set top media player is really all we u...

Re: MKV of DVD vs MP4 of Blu-ray Quality
For us, using Handbrake to rip a Blu-Ray to 720P is better than DVD quality especially if it contains a good HD sound track. We have several dvds that actually looked better after using Handbrake with "all the bells and whistles" high quality options . For example with our Stargate SG1 DVD...

fun with Makemkv streaming and wget
Sometimes our AIOS HD Media player will play the wrong title when playing a blu-ray backup directory. Likewise some times the blu-ray .mkv file created by MakeMkv will not play as well over the network. I was playing around, selected "Stream" in Makemkv and used wget, http://localhost:5100...

Re: How is Linux support determined
My registered MakeMKV v1.8.1 linux(x64-release) checks for updates almost every day as I use it a lot. The registration fee is well worth the cost and there is no alternative for linux users. I am grateful there is a linux version, and recommend it to all, including windows users I know.

Re: remux makemkv .mkv output to .m2ts ?
I had tried both the linux and windows versions using wine, neither works on many of the .mkv files I had previously made. Although it does the video it seems to have trouble with some of the HD audio tracks. It will come up with errors recognizing the files and will only use the 5.1 core rather tha...

remux makemkv .mkv output to .m2ts ?
Any one have a quick and easy solution to end up with .m2ts ? Well. I thought I had it all figured out, the smoothest play I get over my network is using the backup feature of makemkv I create a directory for the files and use something like: makemkvcon backup --decrypt --cache=16 --noscan -r --prog...

Re: Hardware considerations for MakeMKV ?
I have an ASUS BW-12B1ST/BLK/G/AS 12X Blu-ray Internal Burner Drive with Disc Encryption - Black - Retail Box that was on sale back in August and so far has been great, even streaming works pretty good with the exception that some times the makemkv UpNP server will crash when I stop the Blu Ray movi...

Re: Invalid Stored Activation Key?
I think I registered my copy from a purchase link under "Help" in the program. Makemkv works good with Kubuntu 12.04/12.10, and with "Stream" selected I can play 1080P + HD audio movies over my network using our AIOS HD Media player using Upnp, just select stream and wait a coupl...

OT :Kubuntu:unable to copy large file to usb flash drive
I can't find much information about this, I purchased a 32 gb usb flash card and tried copying random files to it and get about 30 GB - similar using my desktop similar to using as my wife's laptop kubuntu laptop. I think 30 gig is good, no complaints. However if I try to copy a 22 GB .mkv movie fil...

Re: The Hunger Games BD, which chapters to choose
I read somewhere they they are recommending using 00665.mpls but there are several clones that might work. I am trying 00665.mpls first
