Re: LibreDrive and revocation list update protection
MT1959 drives have the option of modifying the stored host certificate revocation list (HRL)... Thanks for the detailed reply. Presumably zeroing the HRL would make sense for drives without the option of firmware patches (e.g. "domestic" players used with TV/home cinema setups), but the patches ...

Re: LibreDrive and revocation list update protection
So then, as I understand it, my drive is only protected from updating its revocation list from a newer MKB when MakeMKV is running and has enabled LibreDrive on the drive. Is this correct? Going OT a little, mightn't it be possible to prevent revocation list updates by creating and inserting a ...

Re: Doubts about the future
Why not use crypto as a last resort? Two immediate downsides - it's far more complex for purchasers (who have to first buy the appropriate tokens from a suitable exchange and then supply those tokens to buy the software) and more expensive (due to fees and the need to "round up" on crypto ...

Good catch - easy to miss when you're using the "New Posts" link. But is it then also worth pointing out that flashing may not work with MakeMkv versions post 1.17.7?Sayaka wrote: Fri Aug 21, 2026 11:09 pm EDIT : My bad, this is the Linux subforum, so it would be more like :

Welcome to the forums Thebutton,
This is how I managed to successfully flash my drive, after having placed a copy of the appropriate firmware .bin file in the MakeMKV program folder - note that you used different (and presumably) incorrect parameters and you will need to adjust the drive letter ...

Why Won't You Take My Money!?!
Most likely because Mike can't find a credit card processor willing to handle his transactions. News flash: the film industry and its stooges have been pressuring credit card processors making it increasingly hard to sell circumvention technology - this was an ...

The owner of AnyDVD didn't "take the money and run, and then opened another company." SlyFox was shutdown by the authorities. It was the company's employees that stepped up and brought AnyDVD back to life as RedFox. Any statement about what happened to them years later is pure speculation. As ...

Re: Error code 525
In some cases (specifically forum thread links) this can be worked around by modifying the URL. If it is a forum thread, then the URL should start with hzzps://forum.makemkv.com/forum... (changed the "tt" to "zz" to avoid it being auto-linked) but some links go instead to hzzps://makemkv.com/forum ...

Re: Can MakeMKV be used without online activation?
For this reason, I no longer purchase software licenses that require permanent access to an online activation service.
Sensible choice. MakeMKV just uses a serial key with no online verification, though it isn't possible to purchase keys at the moment.
The one situation where MakeMKV would need ...

...On average and with an original blu ray in the drive, the size of the file is approx 49gb's for all the movies I've looked at through MakeMkv so the need for a 50gb minimum disc to burn a complete blu ray would be needed...
As the original post was dealing with DVDs, rather than BluRay, this ...
