Re: Rough Guide: v1.18.1 on CachyOS(Arch Linux)

If you guys have dependency problems I suggest getting the chaotic-aur repos installed to get the pre-compiled binary. Plus, if you want to flash your drive, I whipped up my findings https://forum.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=40977 , because the downgrade to v1.17.7 was complete depende...

Re: LG BP55EB40 - flash issue

Very curious indeed. How about instead of going for BP55EB40 1.03-MK firmware you try to flash BP50NB40 from the firmware pack instead? Since this one seems to work "vanilla". EDIT: just saw that with this firmware LibreDrive mode is enabled, soooo just put a disc in and try to decrypt it?...

Re: LG BP55EB40 - flash issue

Also, maybe your old drive does not play nice with the newer firmware. Maybe looking into the Old folder within the MK firmware pack can yield an older version for your drive model that makes it play along. Are you using both USB ends of the Y-cable at the same time? Not that it just does not receiv...

Re: LG BP55EB40 - flash issue

Did the eject work before any flashing took place?

Can you eject it by using the small pinhole on the side of the button by carefully inserting a needle or small SIM removal tool?

Re: I'll make you a deal

I got it working on Arch based CachyOS installing makemkv v1.18.2 (oss GUI) a few days ago from the AUR or chaotic-aur for both the BP55EB40 EB52 and Verbatim 43888 (with BU40N inside) drives. Flashing does not work on the latest makemkv version, as the commands will hang the cpu indefinitely. I got...

Re: How to install on Rocky Linux 8

While I am not familiar with Rocky Linux and other distros, how about running a container to get the proper dependencies? I would recommend distrobox with docker as the backend. Easiest way would be some Arch based container with access to the AUR (Arch User Repository) or even chaotic-aur (pre-comp...

Easy Linux cross-flash guide

Heya guys, I wanted to provide a step by step guide for each command with detailed explanations. To keep it short: Linux needs v1.17.7 to flash drives, the SDFtool GUI is not available and the two-step flash and recovery procedure for cross-flashing BP55EB40 to BP60NB10 is not intuitive with CLI. Th...
