Re: Interstellar 4k rip problems
I ripped mine yesterday, though the hash key(s) wasn't valid, I had to use a combination of AnyDVD and MakeMKV. Once the correct hash was in memory MakeMKV had no issues.
Good luck, it's an 85GB disc.
I'm using the Asus 16D1HT (Rev 3.01) drive BTW and makemkv 1.12.0

Re: How To submit new UHD logs
I've just installed the trial of AnyDVD and it's decrypted Interstellar that MakeMKV couldn't. So now with AnyDVD running Make MKV is ripping the disk at last. Is there a way for me to retrieve the hash key this way? BTW MakeMKV didn't have a hash for this disk... must be another batch with new keys.

Re: How To submit new UHD logs
how difficult is it to retrieve a key from the dump? I've read elsewhere that Mike says that it's "not trivial", so what's involved?

Re: 4K UHD results and help request
For playback try the new VLC 3.0, it supports up to 8K HDR hardware playback, this should solve your playback problems.

I've got the Asus BW-16D1HT, running FW 3.01
Do I need to downgrade? I ask because you have an excellent tutorial, but no information why I need too.
I know it's probably around here somewhere though...

This will create a matroska file but I think it compresses it, it's free so give it a go.

Re: Dear Mike Admin
I'd love to buy it but I find £50 a bit of a stretch, £25 yes without hesitation.
Don't get me wrong, it's worth £50, I just can't afford that much in one go.

Try this and it's free
http://www.connecta2000.com/BDtoAVCHD/?lang=en
It will convert MCV or rip directly from BD if it's not encrypted, if it is combine MakeMKV with DBtoAVCHD

Re: MKV not working with PS3 Media Server
try mkv2vob by 3ric That will rip the audio and video out of the MKV and it creates a new file that the PS3 can regonise, usually an MP4. It's free, normally it takes about 5-10 minutes, sometimes it will transcode the audio and take a little longer. Until I got my WDTV that's what I used to do to M...
