How long "Processing titles" should be on UHD?

I don't have a lot of UHD disk in collection and it is the first time it is happening to me... My Dark Knight Rises 4K/UHD disk would take very long time to do the "Processing Titles" phase. I stopped when I saw it would take 6 hours (and time remaining would still increase). So, I switche...

Re: DVD Working fine in VLC, but nothing shows on MakeMKV (Solved)

I also discovered another DVD which decodes with artifacts/errors, I'll try to extract it manually to see if it could also fix this problem.
I was also able to recover the video file that was showing artefacts using the same method.

Re: DVD Working fine in VLC, but nothing shows on MakeMKV

I just found out how to do it solely using MakeMKV. Steps: 1. Load the disk as usual in your drive and MakeMKV. 2. Select "Backup" in the toolbar icons. 3. This will prompt you to save an .iso file of the disk. Copy starts... 4. Once the copy is done, select File -> Open DVD files manually...

DVD Working fine in VLC, but nothing shows on MakeMKV (Solved)

I have an official DVD (U2 The Joshua Tree) that contains a full concert 1.5hrs. I can watch the full concert on my PC with VLC, but when I load the disk in MakeMKV, I only see one 2 minutes video which isn't the concert, but just an extra feature. I wonder what would be the best way to try to recov...

Re: Flashing BD-RE BU40N Firmware 1.05

Newer does not mean better. After extensive testing, us drive sellers determined that v1.03-MK was the better of the two firmware version for reading UHD discs. Personally, I downgrade all BU40N's to v1.00 for wider UHD ripping software compatibility as the MK firmware only works with MakeMKV and X...

Yes. Sorry.
I wanted to delete my post... But I have a user issue: I don't know how to delete a post.

Re: Flashing BD-RE BU40N Firmware 1.05

Yes, of course they were downgraded. There is no such thing as BU40N 1.05-MK firmware! BU40N 1.04-MK is not the recommended firmware. I flash them to BU40N 1.03-MK to remove the firmware encryption then to BU40N 1.00 for wider UHD ripping software compatibility. If you only use MakeMKV or Xreveal f...

Re: Flashing BD-RE BU40N Firmware 1.05

I'm in the same situation. So, basically it is 100% safe and it's working to downgrade the drive from 1.05 to 1.04 (MK).
The last answer doesn't explicitly mention those thousands of Verbatim drive were downgraded.

I better be safe than sorry.

BU40N 1.05 > 1.04 downgrade possible?

I just bought a Verbatim 43888 that is based on the BU40N. I just read a couple of posts here and I'm not sure if I can safely downgrade my drive to 1.04 from 1.05. From what I found, the latest MK firmware is based on the firmware 1.04. I wonder if other users have a similar drive and were able to ...
