I just switched to all AMD so I can have better SteamOS/Linux compatibility for when Microsoft forces us to ditch Windows 10 lol. Thanks for the help though even if it didn't work, I still really appreciate you taking time to trying to help me. I'll probably end up rebuilding my old PC in a new case...

Tried a usb a to micro usb on the motherboard, didn't work, tried type c to micro usb also didn't work, just ordered a cable that has 2 usb a male and 1 male micro usb. I have used the drive before and have successfully ripped several films, it's a bp50n40 (SVC NB50) flashed with custom firmware, it did work on my computer previously and it can still read/rip non 4k blu rays normally.
