Tried it again after giving it another clean. Windows decided to stop scanning this time, but still nothing with MakeMKV.

I had tried cleaning the disc before as there were a few smudges. I just tried waiting until windows was finished with the disc before opening MakeMKV. The drive is still trying to read the disk after more than 5 mins. The are intermittent "clunking" noises and occasionally the drive spins...

I bought a 2nd hand UHD of Kingsman1 (French version) and thought to test the disk by ripping with MakeMKV. I havbe a flashed Asus 16D1HT, which is able to recognise 2 other French UHD disks (Bumblebee and Detective Pikachu). The disc seems to be fine when playing it through my standalone 4K player....
