How does the Hitachi BP55EB40 and BU40N compare to the Pioneers? I unfortunately wasn't able to get into the store when it reopened before the Pioneers were sold out, so still looking for my first drive. Would these Hitachis be a solid choice for my first drive, and I assume all chances at a Pioneer...

So these drives don't need to be flashed, they are ready to go? Of the drives in stock, which would you recommend? Thanks!!

Oh wow, well that would explain it. Since it seems Pioneer made the best drives, what will be the best option for the future, assuming that soon, all new Pioneer drives will be gone. Used? Another brand?

it not the actual drive model i send you an xd08 the fw is from an xd08u makemkv now supports all UHD pioneers even on the latest fw and Exactly what I said makemkv supports all UHD pioneers out of the box for UHD ripping. But non uhd pioneers are still not cross flashable to UHD after 12/22 unless...
