fwiw, I never got this to work in MakeMKV. I ended up using a couple other command-line tools with the help of Claude Code to back up the disc. No idea if it was a clean rip or if it transcoded somewhere in there, but I was able to watch the movie :| If anyone has any ideas, I'd be happy to try them...

Bit of a silly question, but I just tried to rip The Wicked: For Good Blu-ray (American, Universal Pictures release) and the dump file that got created was MKB_v82_Wicked-_For_Good_8426.tgz. I tried creating a backup of the DVD as well. The backup hung at ~74 MB, ran for a while longer (maybe about an hour?), and then eventually failed.
