Re: Is my UHD LibreDrive toast?
Got my replacement drive and have it running now. Question: am I better off with the 1.02 or 1.00 firmware for UHD?
WH16NS60 1.02-MK is recommended if you use MakeMKV and/or Xreveal for UHD discs. WH16NS60 1.00 if you use other UHD disc ripping software such as DVDFab.
Thank you. 1.02-MK ...

Re: Is my UHD LibreDrive toast?
Yup, it's an RMA return going out today.
BTW, the biggest challenge I faced trying to restore stock firmware was actually finding the download pack, as it's hosted on the nonfunctioning makemkv.com. I eventually found it in the Wayback Machine

The BH16NS40 is the 4th post.
Thank you!!!
To use it you will have to flash the drive to a BH16NS40 MK version lower than 1.05 then you can use it to upgrade to original 1.05. The MK firmware pack has HL-DT-ST-BD-RE_BH16NS40-NS50 ...

Re: Is my UHD LibreDrive toast?
I have opened the drive and cleaned the lens as suggested. Sadly, it has not changed the behavior. I reached out to OWC, and they've offered to service or replace it. Never thought I'd ask this question, but should I reflash it to stock firmware before doing so?

Re: Found an old TSST drive in the closet -- worth flashing?
Makes sense to me. Like I said, it's working just fine on Blu-rays, and it's never a bad thing to take some load off my UHD drives.
I read that article about old firmware, but as the drive itself was reporting "possible, not yet enabled" for LibreDrive, I thought perhaps I had missed something!

Found an old TSST drive in the closet -- worth flashing?
Let me start by saying I've already got two flashed drives that can read UHD disks, but this oldie is still working:

Re: Can't launch 1.18.4 on MacBook Pro M4 - not a gatekeeper problem
I had to reset gatekeeper to get 1.18.4 working, but I've observed this little quirk:
I't showing
MakeMKV v.1.8.4 [darwin(arm64-release)]
Latest available version 1.18.3
Otherwise it seems to be working just fine

Re: Finally: A free solution to play 4k/UHD Blue-Ray on an Apple Mac (also on M1, Ventura)
Reddit had a solution that worked for me with on my M2 and my 2018 MBP (intel).

OMG after all this time a simple solution that works... THANK YOU!!!
EDIT: it's working for UHD and BluRays on M2 ...

Re: Newb question on choosing titles to extract
Just pick the one with chapters. Like you noticed, they are most likely identical besides that difference. This usually happens on discs that don't use seamless branching for the main feature: The one with chapters is the .mpls playlist file, while the one without is the raw .m2ts stream.
As for ...
