I figured out the problem. After looking at the original DVD, that's the way it is supposed to look for the first few minutes. So there is no problem.

Strange Zoom Issue
I have used makemkv to successfully rip several DVDs. I ran into a strange problem with two of them though. The first few minutes of the movie has the zoom (not sure if that's the right term) set so that it's a small 16x9 screen in the middle of my TV (black bars all around the TV). After a few minu...
