Re: Merging Lord of the Rings Extended Edition Trilogy Set
I take it back. Only The Fellowship of the Ring merged correctly. Both The Two Towers and The Return of the King had different private data in the h264 track. Did the file end up working? I merged them and got the different private data error. But I just ignored it and everything seemed to work jus...

Re: Merging Lord of the Rings Extended Edition Trilogy Set
Hi, Have you had problems merging/appending ROTK to one MKV? I get a warning "The codec's private data does not match". I haven't split the files or modified them in any way. I just use "Append". Thanks in advance Morten I strongly suspect the cause of this is that you are using...

Re: 1.9.3 gets stuck freezes hangs copying file?
I don't think we should be telling Mike what he'd better or better not do. A workaround has already been posted in this thread (use an older version), no need to get snippy.

Re: Embed forced subtitles
I hate dealing with subtitles... But, I've found a method that seems to work for me. When I get a new movie to rip, I first usually check one of these google doc pages. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1V8lwy44FwxR3h_3g9eI0OexOz7_4zeuhfCwD-QX97I4/edit#gid=0 https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/...

Re: Now You See Me jumps all over the place
I'm working on Now You See Me right now. I got it from Amazon. It's the Blu-Ray + DVD + Digital HD version. It says EXTENDED EDITION (ALSO INCLUDES THEATRICAL VERSION) at the top. MakeMKV identifies two "Primary Titles" One is 705, the other is 763. Only 763 appears correct. 705 shows just...

Re: Getting foreign language subtitles to play correctly
Really? That's cool! I'm using version 1.7.4. Is there a newer update?Chetwood wrote:Exactly. In one of the last updates, Mike has set the default flag to 'no' so there's usually no need to use MKVToolnix's header editor anyway.

Re: Getting foreign language subtitles to play correctly
"Always on" is a function of what you play the files with. The Uebo M400 always plays subtitle track 1, until you turn it off. Their M100, on the other hand, never plays subtitles, until you turn them on. VLC goes by your preferences, but the default is to play the first track of your pre...

Re: Getting foreign language subtitles to play correctly
But that doesn't solve the problem of the subtitles being set to always on.Smithcraft wrote:If you expand the file selection, it will show you the streams that are available. You can select the ones you want, and deselect the ones you don't want.

Re: Getting foreign language subtitles to play correctly
you can edit the properties of the mkv file without having to remux the whole thing. Which is exactly what MKVToolnix's header editor does. Look at that, you learn something new every day. (It is a new day since I posted last, right?) I wish we could see these options in MakeMKV itself. That would ...

Getting foreign language subtitles to play correctly
I'm just starting to rip my DVD collection, and I'm using MakeMKV. The only problem I've run into is that the subtitles are on by default. Turning them off isn't too big a deal, except for when there are parts of a film that are in a foreign language. Example: The Bourne Identity. I searched for mos...
