Re: The Fog UHD 4K - Rips in 1.12.3, but not 1.14.0
This is the first time I've attempted to rip a region-locked disk. I've made sure to thoroughly clean the disk, so my hunch is that this might have something to do with the fact that it's region-locked. Either that, or it's a coincidence I suppose. Blu-ray region coding is very distinct from DVD re...

Re: The Fog (John Carpenter 4-disc set)
Hey did you ever figure this out? I've been unable to rip The Fog myself. First time I've tried a region-locked disk too.

Re: The Fog UHD 4K - Rips in 1.12.3, but not 1.14.0
I'm having an issue ripping The Fog using my ASUS BW-16D1HT. Getting constant scsci errors and it often reports, "udf: node fe/efe failed!" I'm usually eventually able to get into the disk, but about halfway through ripping the main title, MakeMKV will gradually begin reading more and more...

Re: WALL·E Criterion
Submitted where? I'm a bit new here, so all I see are folks saying they submitted, but without a link to see what files folks actually ripped. Read the hashed keys section of the UHD FAQ . People are submitting dumps MakeMKV automatically produces when a hashed key for a disc is not available to do...

Re: makemkv was prevented from modifying apps on your mac
Enabling the check box as root worked for me: 1-Open a Terminal window and type "sudo" 2-Control or right click on the MakeMKV app and select "Show package contents 3-Go to Mac OS folder and select the "makemkv" executable 4- Drop it into the Terminal window, hit return and...

Re: WALL·E Criterion
speedy! i submitted mine today Submitted where? I'm a bit new here, so all I see are folks saying they submitted, but without a link to see what files folks actually ripped. I'm currently trying for the 4K disk, and there are two possible versions: one is 00001, and the other is 00305. They're both...

Re: Ghost in the Shell (1995) (US)
At least on my copy, the first 2 are the same (segment map, streams, chapters). The "third" one is just from MakeMKV walking streams, and doesn't have the chapter metadata, because the chapter stops are defined in the playlist. Hi, I'm ripping my copy currently and stumbled on this thread...

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2025
This is an extremely helpful guide. Thanks Billy. I’m new to this hobby, so to clarify and make sure im understanding correctly—it seems possible to flash an LG Drive on MacOS, but that requires terminal commands, while on the other hand, doing so on Windows is a bit more straightforward, using the...
