Samsung SE 506 info
So this LibreDrive thing has just popped up to say that it is possible for my drive - a Samsung SE 506 (external). What will it do if it gets enabled? I can rip pretty much everything already (although not UHD) Drive Information Manufacturer: TSSTcorp Product: BDDVDW SE-506BB Revision: TS00 Serial n...

Re: La La Land
I have the UK version (out today) and my segment maps all start with 512 and end with 504, so it is obviously different again. I do not have anything to compare it to right now so will probably wait until someone else works it out!

Re: The Imitation Game (UK Release)
This disk (UK Release) worked for me, so if it doesn't work for you now then it might be your disk that is damaged

Re: Mockingjay UK release
I ran powerdvd/process monitor on mine and this was what I came up with too (UK Blu Ray from Amazon)jonesthegas wrote:I have the UK release. Using powerdvd and process monitor it seems to be 871 with segment order

Re: Occasionally corrupted rips
From the mac which I run makemkv on I have now run 90 gb of file copies across the lan to the same destination as makemkv and compared the results, again across the lan. Not a problem whatsoever.
Best wishes

Re: Occasionally corrupted rips
The destination is a synology NAS, I do nightly smart checks and monthly full checks. I didn't see corruption with a big read / copy / compare test from the same machine when I first had this problem, but I will repeat this. It seems odd that when I restart the machine and do the rip again it is abs...

Re: Occasionally corrupted rips
I will turn debug logs on. It's not playback that is an issue, I see it in VLC, and also in XBMC - and when I re-rip the same film everything is fine. I have done binary compares of the rips and seen considerable differences. Usually the problem presents on playback within the first minute or so. He...

Occasionally corrupted rips
I use my old macbook air for ripping dvds and blu rays. Occasionally, just occasionally, the rip doesn't play properly. If I restart makemkv and re-rip it rips it again and it does work fine.
Seems like an unusual problem - has anyone seen anything like this?

Re: Budapest hotel - which angle?
Turns out the angles are different languages for on-screen text. Angle 1 is English, Angle 2 is french. I only ripped these two to see the differences so not sure what 3 and 4 are

Suggestions - peer based system for track selection
How about if makemkv recorded anonymously track selections users have made, perhaps with some comment (eg english language on-screen text) which other users could then vote on? (upvote/downvote) It may help selection when there are multiple non-obvious tracks? Just an idea if there isn't a programma...

Re: American Hustle BD - Which Playlist
Ok. Here's what I did - I ran process monitor on windows and filtered for .m2ts files only and played the film on fast forward. I wrote down the .m2ts files and found the playlist which had them all. This was extremely time consuming, but I verified the file was the same as the blu ray by skipping t...
