Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2026
Definitely best to go direct if you can. They must be suffering right now with the tariffs. I like to support the good European companies, but for me the overriding factors are quality and the company being morally good. Unfortunately there isn't always a choice, e.g. if you want LTO the only questi...

Re: What support is available for registered users?
I agree, it seems mature and stable. Honestly the main problem is that the information you need is spread over multiple threads and not very easy to find.
I would say it needs an FAQ, but there is supposed to be one, it's just not working.

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2026
Yeah, I had in mind to use mine for some other stuff so figured for the small amount extra I might as well get the USB 3 version. In the end it's only ever housed the ASUS drive. Not sure what phone support you would need, and I doubt they make the chipset in the US, it's going to be rebadged Taiwan...

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2026
Would one of these enclosures work for flashing with a WH16NS60? NexStar DX2 USB 3.0 I have this one: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006193051123.html Been using it with a flashed ASUS drive without issue. I got the USB 3 version and also use it for archival grade ripping of audio CDs and old ...

Re: What support is available for registered users?
It's not leaked, you just ask for it. I'm sure your flasher is lovely, but I found the free one very easy to use. There's no need to keep banging that drum. The free one is pretty much foolproof. My concern is that here we have a commercial product where support is only via this forum, and when I've...

Re: What support is available for registered users?
I do like forums for support in general. More so than Reddit or corporate email that takes days to answer. But also it depends on the developer making an effort, and not just hoping that the forum sorts itself out, or relying on a few people there who may or may not be helpful. And I have to say tha...

Re: What support is available for registered users?
No need to be like that, Billy. That kind of attitude is why I don't want to be reliant on you for support. I mean does the developer accept submissions for unknown keys, do they help with any issues you may experience ripping discs? Is there email support? I appreciate that some developers prefer t...

If you register MakeMKV, what support is available? So the authors offer any support or is it just this forum?

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2026
Damn. My last drive failed today. It won't power on. I have a huge media library and now I'm afraid I'll never be able to rip again. I can't find any supported drives anymore. :( I see a couple on eBay for high prices but that seems risky. I've purchased all my discs. I just want to be able to rip ...

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2026
I can get the drives quite cheap too, around 15-20 Euro sometimes. I didn't realize they were in demand, but next time I'll stock up and sell them on cheaply. I just want people to be able to rip and preserve this media. I ended up with 3 drives myself. Bought the second one because I forgot to brin...

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2026
I had a SH216 set up thanks to this forum a few years ago. It died from too much ripping, ha. I bought a BDR-212V and just now got around to getting it set up. However, I've lost most of my knowledge over that time. I tried poking around on this forum but it seems like most problems are getting fix...
