Optical drives use two different lasers at different wavelengths, one for CDs & DVDs and one for blu-rays & UHDs. Typically when a drive stops reading the media associated with one of the lasers, it means that laser is dead. It might just be a coincidence that you upgraded to Windows 11. I'...

Hi all, I bought a pre-flashed ASUS BW-16D1HTback in 2021 from these forums, and it's worked great for years. But this week I upgraded my PC from Windows 10 to 11. I also updated my motherboard BIOS. Now I'm afraid I borked something up because my drive can only recognize DVDs, but not Blu-ray discs...
